Community hands over Anti-aircraft gun captured from terrorist to STF Jos

Bauchi-The Sayawa Community in Tafawa Balewa Local government area of Bauchi state has handed over sophisticated arms called Anti- aircraft gun  allegedly captured  from terrorists by the youths of the community  on the 30the March of 2015  to the Special Task Force Command Jos.
The Chairman Christians Association of Nigeria CAN Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area, Reverend Isaac Istifanus , disclosed this at the official submission and handing over of   Anti- aircraft gun  weapon to the Special Task Force (STF) Commander Major General DD Enetie in Tafawa Balewa town of Bauchi State.
He said:” The gallant youths of Sawaya community captured the anti- Air craft Gun  from the deadly Boko Haram terrorists when the town of Tafawa Balewa was attacked on the 30th March 2015 immediately after the general election”
” This is not the first time of handing over of weapons to the military personnel .During the attack,  a soldier was killed and his machine gun was seized  by the Boko haram terrorists .The same  Sawaya youths pursued the terrorists and returned the machine gun to the military base”
The CAN chairman commended Dogara Yakubu for being instrumental in building peace between the Fulanis and Sayawa who are the majority tribes in the community.
He then Appeal to the Federal Government to engage the youths in the Army and create a permanent military unit of battalion strength in Tafawa Balewa Town.
Also speaking, the District Head of Bogoro Mr Sauratu Damina commended the Special Task Force for maintaining peace and sacrificing their lives for the area, assuring that community will continue to  complement the efforts of the military towards combating the security challenges in the area.
Damina said “we want to commend the youths for their bravery  in collecting those weapons from the terrorists.  Sayawa Community have no reason to keep the weapons rather than to submit it to the military because we have no capacity to keep weapons and that is why we deemed it fit to give it back to the military”
In his remark the STF Commander Jos Major General DD Enetie,  appreciated the efforts of  the youths in Sayawa Community for handing over the weapons received from terrorists.
He told the people in the community that security was a collective responsibility that each person has a role to play for society to develop.
Mojor General Enetie urged the people not to sale any weapon captured or discovered, saying such action could implicate them.
we learnt that two Anti-Air craft Guns were discovered, but only one was submitted. Please do not sell weapons or keep them. Submit them to the military, because we are here for you. We will make sure we do our best to tackle the security challenges in the country” He said
