He made the remark at a valedictory session in his honour at the Ministry of Defence.
He said he was leaving a contented person to face his private business.
Gusau expressed satisfaction that he was leaving the ministry in capable hands, who are dedicated to the service of the nation.
“I am happy that I met people who are dedicated to the service of the nation in the ministry of defence.
“ As a retired military general and a highly-sought-after intelligence agent, I would often make my service available to the ministry of defence and the country whenever I am consulted,” he promised.
He prayed for successful tenure of the incoming administration led by Muhammadu Buhari.
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defence, Alhaji Aliyu Ismalia, said that staff members of the ministry had cordial working relation with the outgoing minister and wished him well in his future endeavours.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Gusau was appointed Minister of Defence by President Goodluck Jonathan on March 5, 2014.
