If you look up your ex's new girlfriend as soon as he makes it official on Facebook and you know her full name, don't worry ... you're not alone.
Stalking your ex's new beau is a common response to finding out
someone you once shared your life with has finally moved on and decided to take
on a new partner. And there are many reasons you may do it. Even if you don't
miss your ex, you may simply be curious as to whether their new partner is good
looking, stylish, adventurous and accomplished. Of course, you also compare how
they match up to you when it comes to those categories as well. But, just
because you now know the name of their dog, their favourite hike, what yoga
studio they go to, and the anniversary date they have with your ex doesn't mean
you'e not stalking, because face it, that's exactly what you're doing. A study by Western University found that 88 percent of 18- to
35-year-olds have hopped on social media platforms to stalk their exes’ pages to
keep up with their lives, while 80 percent have stalked their exes’ new
significant others. But just because so many people do it, does it make it
healthy? Not exactly. Research from that same study found that the more Facebook
stalking that occurred, the more snoopers felt distressed. So, next time you
think about clicking on that new name your old beau is suddenly in a
relationship with, think again. Are you guilty of stalking your ex's new
partner? Source: Elite Daily Do you follow us on Instagram? [caption id="attachment_108438"
