- The body of an Orting mother missing more than two weeks was found over the weekend in the woods near Kapowsin.
Nicole White, 28, was last seen leaving a Spanaway bar June 6 with a man she met through an online dating service. Her mother reported her missing the next day when she failed to return home.
Investigation led Pierce County sheriff’s detectives and FBI agents to an area near Timberline Forest Camp 1 Road East on Saturday. Search dogs found White’s body, which was wrapped in a tarp.
“We believe the body was intentionally hidden,” sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said.
The Medical Examiner’s Office has not yet determined the cause of death.
No arrests have been made.
The man White met at Jeepers Country Bar & Grill on Pacific Avenue South remains a person of interest, Troyer said.
That man is in Pierce County Jail on unrelated weapons charges.
Detectives will present a case to prosecutors this week, Troyer said
Shortly after White disappeared, her Dodge Neon was found partially over an embankment near 70th and 260th avenues east near Graham.
White has two children.
