Amosun inaugurates Ogun Assembly, Speaker retains seat

Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly in the 7th legislature, Suraj Adekunmbi, on Monday retained his seat as the Speaker for another four years.
The state governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, inaugurated the state’s 8th legislature at 10.30am in accordance with the 1999 Constitution.
He was nominated for the office on the floor of the House by a member representing Abeokuta North State Constituency, Ojodu Olayiwola, without opposition.
Kunle Oluomo from Ifo 1 State Constituency emerged as the Deputy Speaker.
Adekunmbi, who took his oath of office by 10.33am, represents Yewa North 1 State Constituency.
