OKPE – THERE was pandemonium on Friday night along the Eku/Oviore road in
Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State as many people sustained various degrees of injuries while over 15 cars were damaged following multiple accidents that occurred on the road.
As at 7pm when Sunday Vanguard visited the scene, a minimum of 15 cars
were seen damaged with some of them ramming into electric poles or nearby buildings as a result of the slippery state of the road.
The leakage it was gathered from residents along the road, was from an unidentified tanker conveying
diesel which spilled along the road which was already wet as a result of an heavy down pour.
According to one of the residents who gave his name as Mr.
Boyetie Ochuko, their attention was drawn to the state of the road when they started hearing consistent
tyres screeching followed
with several loud
bangs adding that, that was when they
realised the condition of the road.
